And there goes another 3 months. I'm still stuck here. Haha.
Procrastination is the thief of time. Well said, I guess I was partially to
blame because I only apply for jobs on a on-off basis. When I feel like it then
look up some job search website and apply. But I haven't gotten any replies so
far. I recently realised that the word doc version of the resume I sent out all
along was in a unreadable format. I am guessing that is due to conversion between
Pages (word editing software for Mac) and Microsoft Office. Trying to make
myself feel better in a way, but I have updated my resume and sent out again. August
should be my last month. I am planning to tender this July, with or without
finding a job. Let's see what happens in a few months time. Hopefully it doesn't
start with: "And I'm still here at my old company…"
Staff changes in our company, 2 new ladies in addition. Our good friend Es just left to pursue his studies at Singapore Institute of Management. So it's left with me, our senior designer and event executive together with 2 new staff. That’s the new team now. I would say that the girls really didn’t come in at a good timing because me and Ron are planning to leave soon. Oh well, good luck to them.
I've passed my swimming test! And now I'm an official swim teacher! Well, kinda. I mean I am ready for my own class, but I don’t have a class yet. I am a floater, which means kinda like a assistant swim teacher to assist the principle swim teacher of the class. So my Saturdays are pretty much occupied, at least it is still a source of income if I do decided to quit my current job.
A piece of good news! My Canadian friends Adrienne (Adge) and her boyfriend Greg are coming to Singapore! For one weekend. They will be staying at Bali for one year to teach and they will drop by to visit! I'm so excited to see them. It'll be the first time since Oct/Nov 2010, which is close to 3 years! Oh man I miss Adge so much, I really feel very comfortable talking to her and being around her (:
Random: Singapore was hit by the worst haze in Singapore history. It was due to the deforestation in our neighbouring country in Indonesia. The haze hit Singapore and Malaysia with PSI (Pollutant Standards Index) in the hazardous levels. It spiked to over 400 at it’s peak. Government advised everyone to stay indoors and outdoor activities was discouraged. Luckily it's getting better now, with PSI under the 100 mark. The haze has caused many inconvenience such as event cancellation, postponement and all. Let's just hope they stop burning trees and do something for mother earth.
Shows I watched recently:
-Man of Steel (Quite ok, I like it)
-Star Trek Into Darkness (Hell yeah! I am a JJ Abrams fan and
I totally loved it)
-True Grit (Old show but I find it good, liked the young
girl's performance and Jeff Bridges)
-Warm Bodies (Not the traditional zombie movie, first time in
the head of a zombie, fresh and interesting)
-Olympus has Fallen (Exaggerating, brainless action movie)
-Perks of Being a Wallflower (Don’t find it particularly
nice, don’t really understand the story, but Emma Watson is hot)
-Now
You See Me (Okok show, didn’t have high expectations for the show. Don't really
liked it)
